Last Weekend

Irregular Verbs in the Past · Level A1
Irregular Verbs — What are they?
Verbos irregulares em inglês não seguem a regra do -ED no passado. Cada um tem uma forma própria que precisa ser memorizada.

A boa notícia: a forma é a mesma para todas as pessoas (I, you, he, she, we, they) — e na negativa e pergunta, o verbo volta para a forma base, igual aos verbos regulares!
go → went  ·  have → had  ·  see → saw  ·  eat → ate
Affirmative

Estrutura

Subject + past form + ...
I went to the beach last weekend. (Eu fui à praia no fim de semana.) She had lunch with her family. (Ela almoçou com a família.) They saw a great movie on Saturday. (Eles viram um ótimo filme no sábado.) He ate at a restaurant. (Ele comeu em um restaurante.)
Negative

Estrutura

Subject + didn't + verb (base form) + ...
I didn't go to the gym. (Eu não fui à academia.) She didn't have breakfast. (Ela não tomou café da manhã.) They didn't see anyone. (Eles não viram ninguém.)
Atenção: Na negativa, use a forma base — nunca o passado irregular!
Errado: I didn't went.    Correto: I didn't go.
Question

Estrutura

Did + subject + verb (base form) + ...?
Did you go out last night? (Você saiu ontem à noite?) What did you do last weekend? (O que você fez no fim de semana?) Where did she go? (Onde ela foi?)
Atenção: Na pergunta, também use a forma base — nunca o passado!
Errado: Did she went?    Correto: Did she go?
